Primary & Maternity Care

As your family grows.

After Hours Care

Maternity and Emergency care.

Welcome to Victoria Oceanside Health

Our mission at Victoria Oceanside Health is to continue to work hard to provide all of our patients with timely, compassionate, competent care.

The last few years have been a challenge for everyone. The toll it has taken on Health Care Workers has left British Columbia in a Primary Care Crisis. Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we emerge from the pandemic and continue to keep our patients and staff safe.

The office will not tolerate disrespect, rudeness, profanity or threatening behaviour.

Announcements

  1. Our clinic is unable to accept any new general practice patients. We do accept maternity patients for care for the duration of the pregnancy and up to 2 months after the baby is born. Please phone the office if you are pregnant and seeking care.
  2. After hours phone numbers have changed, please see the Contact page for more information.

Prescription Refills

Medications are prescribed to last until your physician needs to reassess you. This means you need to identify when you are going to run out of medications and plan a visit 3-4 weeks in advance of that time.

All prescription refills require an appointment, and the doctors will do a phone or telehealth/video appointment for your convenience.

Our staff will not take refill requests over the phone, nor do we respond to pharmacies faxed requests asking from a renewal of your prescriptions. Please understand that due to the volume of patients requiring prescriptions we cannot possibly address these requests outside of scheduled appointments with a physician.

Please note that if you are going to run out before your appointment, your pharmacist can provide an emergency extension of your medications.

Book Appointment Online

Starting in August 2021, our patients can now save time by booking an appointment online.

Victoria Oceanside Physicians

Dr. Donna Doyle

Family Doctor

After growing up in beautiful Nelson, BC I completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Rehabilitation Medicine (Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) at the University of British Columbia (UBC), and then went on to complete my medical degree, also at UBC, in 1990. After graduation, I joined my husband in Victoria, and have been working in full service Family Practice and Maternity Care since.

I am passionate about Family Medicine. I so enjoy the ongoing longitudinal relationships with patients, and feel it is a privilege to help people through some of the most vulnerable times in their lives.

In my leisure time I love being active in the outdoors, cycling, hiking, and skiing. I have an amazing husband and 2 wonderful grown boys who share my passion for the outdoors.

Dr. Kendra Daniel

Family Doctor

I was born and raised in the snow belt of southwestern Ontario. Wisely, after finishing my Bachelor of Science at University of Waterloo, I flew the coop and moved to beautiful British Columbia. In 2006, I completed my medical degree at UBC. Thereafter, I decided to try island living and moved to Victoria. I am so happy to call Victoria home and feel privileged to practice family medicine and maternity. I find joy in each and every delivery.

My true passion in life is being a mother to my two wonderful daughters. I adore spending time with my family outdoors and having lazy snuggly mornings with a coffee nearby. I can often be found having dance parties with my girls and also curling up with a good book.

Dr. Amy Cuthbertson

Family Doctor

I grew up in Calgary, AB but headed to the east coast to complete my undergraduate degree in Psychology and International Development at Dalhousie University. I then returned to Calgary for medical school. In 2014, my husband and I came to Victoria to complete our residencies. During this time, I had the honour of being trained by Dr Doyle. After locuming in Victoria, and then Vancouver for a number of years, I am thrilled to be joining this practice of dedicated physicians.

Family medicine brings me so much joy to be able to care for patients of all ages, and for all their health concerns. Additionally, I have always had a special interest in women’s health and maternity care. It is such a privilege to be a part of that journey with my patients and their families.

Outside of work, I enjoy being as active as possible - running, mountain biking, and skiing. These days, our adventures also include 2 little boys!

Victoria Oceanside Medical Office Assistants

Jacki Pearson

Medical Office Assistant

After completing the Medical Office Assistant Course, I have been working in this office since 1993! I am working amongst a wonderful team of physicians here.

I have one son who's now an adult and I have loved every minute of watching him grow up. My favorite place to be is on the golf course with my husband and son. I'm so grateful for my health, my work, my family & friends.

Leanne Chamberlain

Medical Office Assistant

After completing the Medical Office Assistant Course, I have been working within the Health Care field since 1995. I enjoy working at this Office each week, helping both the staff, and patients, however I can.

When not at this office, I am working at growing my own, home-based business.

FACULTY OF MEDICINE

UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residents

We all teach UBC Family Practice Residents in our office. This is an important aspect of giving back and ensuring that there are competent family physicians for your future care.

Residents are doctors that have finished their medical in school training and are doing their final 2 years of practical training in our office and in the local hospitals. You may see a resident, online or in person at our office or at the hospital. Please welcome them as part of your care. They are always very well supervised, and each visit is reviewed with one of us.
