Keeping in the know...

Key things to know for your upcoming appointment

Covid 19 has made 2020 a challenging year. As the entire world tries to navigate and cope during this difficult and uncertain time, we would like to say thank you to all of you, for all that you have done, and continue to do, to help keep yourselves, your families and our community stay safe through this global pandemic. It is a challenge for all!!!

Since March, our office has seen many changes, and we have tried to adapt quickly to the challenge of delivering safe, competent, compassionate care within the guidelines of our Provincial Health Officer, Dr Bonnie Henry.

* During the pandemic, all visits will first be booked as virtual appointments and then we will assess the need for in-person care.

In Person Visit

Important: We will not be seeing patients for in office visits who are displaying any symptoms that could be consistent with Covid 19. If you are booked for an in person appointment, please call the office to change your appointment.

  • Exam rooms are wiped down with disinfectant between each in person visit
  • Arrive at your appointment time
  • Wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose; this policy will help protect you and our staff
  • Maintain a 6' social distance from other patients and our medical office assistant
  • Leave quickly to allow for the next patient to come in

Virtual Visit

  • Log in a minute before your appointment starts
  • If the online system isn't working, look for a phone call from an unknown number
  • Recognize that your doctor might be running a few minutes behind and be patient

Victoria Oceanside Physicians

Dr. Donna Doyle

Family Doctor

After growing up in beautiful Nelson, BC I completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Rehabilitation Medicine (Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) at the University of British Columbia (UBC), and then went on to complete my medical degree, also at UBC, in 1990. After graduation, I joined my husband in Victoria, and have been working in full service Family Practice and Maternity Care since.

I am passionate about Family Medicine. I so enjoy the ongoing longitudinal relationships with patients, and feel it is a privilege to help people through some of the most vulnerable times in their lives.

In my leisure time I love being active in the outdoors, cycling, hiking, and skiing. I have an amazing husband and 2 wonderful grown boys who share my passion for the outdoors.

Dr. Kendra Daniel

Family Doctor

I was born and raised in the snow belt of southwestern Ontario. Wisely, after finishing my Bachelor of Science at University of Waterloo, I flew the coop and moved to beautiful British Columbia. In 2006, I completed my medical degree at UBC. Thereafter, I decided to try island living and moved to Victoria. I am so happy to call Victoria home and feel privileged to practice family medicine and maternity. I find joy in each and every delivery.

My true passion in life is being a mother to my two wonderful daughters. I adore spending time with my family outdoors and having lazy snuggly mornings with a coffee nearby. I can often be found having dance parties with my girls and also curling up with a good book.

Dr. Amy Cuthbertson

Family Doctor

Growing up in Calgary, AB but headed to the east coast to complete my undergraduate degree in Psychology and International Development at Dalhousie University. I then returned to Calgary for medical school. In 2014, my husband and I came to Victoria to complete our residencies. During this time, I had the honour of being trained by Dr Doyle. After locuming in Victoria, and then Vancouver for a number of years, I am thrilled to be joining this practice of dedicated physicians.

Family medicine brings me so much joy to be able to care for patients of all ages, and for all their health concerns. Additionally, I have always had a special interest in women’s health and maternity care. It is such a privilege to be a part of that journey with my patients and their families.

Outside of work, I enjoy being as active as possible - running, mountain biking, and skiing. These days, our adventures also include 2 little boys!

FACULTY OF MEDICINE

UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residents

We all teach UBC Family Practice Residents in our office. This is an important aspect of giving back and ensuring that there are competent family physicians for your future care.

Residents are doctors that have finished their medical in school training and are doing their final 2 years of practical training in our office and in the local hospitals. You may see a resident, online or in person at our office or at the hospital. Please welcome them as part of your care. They are always very well supervised, and each visit is reviewed with one of us.
